Adobe Ignite Presentation

The Adobe Ignite presentation kick-off presentation had various random speakers, several of whom are presenting this week at sessions.  As we watch the quick 5 minute presentations we can text message our votes for best presentation and a real time chart is updated/displayed with the leaders.  The winner gets, who knows what.  Interesting items from the mini-presentations:

One guy states a comparison test was done between 2500 (or 25,000, I forget) asynchronous operations running on the original AVM1 (Flash virtual machine running AS2), AVM2 (Flash Virtual machine running AS3), and Java.  The times are 22s, 2.3s, and 2.1s respectively.

A 15-year old kid does the last presentation (introduced as the youngest person here).  He wrote a Flex web site and is comparing his version of the site with his friend's version of the site.  Apparently some type of bet between whose version is better, with his having more pizazz and his friend's having more functionality.
