Conference Accomodations

This hotel, the Palmer House Hilton, is touted as being a legendary hotel.  Here is what puzzles me ... they sell expensive jewelery in the lobby and can flaunt things like being the first hotel to install Edison's light bulbs, but the "public area" wireless coverage is poor and costs by the hour to use, while the ethernet in rooms costs $13 a day.  Couldn't the $235 a night cover some freaking internet connectivity?!?  At least the Adobe conference is wireless all over and free.
